The National City Aquatic Center was a recipient of the 2017 Orchid Award. A bay front signature Safdie Rabines architectural gem, the building was constructed for use as an adventure and learning center. The building site and unique architecture presented many challenging issues with environmental and water quality compliance, structural and stability engineering and construction due to adjacent waters and sand sub-soils, and ultra-high quality standards specified.
