Renewable Energy & Citywide LED Lighting Upgrades

Owner
City of Chula Vista

Project
$17.7M

These energy efficiency projects were broken into two individual projects. Renewable Energy Upgrades consisted of installing solar panels, inverters, structural steel, breakers, panels and energy storage systems at 11 different locations throughout the city. Solar panels were constructed as carports or roof mounted systems. All new systems were integrated with existing systems and interconnected as one system. Extensive coordination with property owners was required for power shutdowns through SDG&E. LED Lighting Upgrades consisted of the coordination and management to replace the existing lighting systems with more energy efficient LED fixtures throughout 64 City owned buildings. PlanGrid technology was implemented to track and record all quantities for the various types of lamps and fixtures throughout project duration.
